Aphrodite Amorgianos Obituary

On Thursday February 22, 2024; beloved wife of Emanuel Amorgianos; sister of Georgia Dascoulias (the late George), Sophia Zozos (the late Gus), Becky Hnaras (Matthew) and preceded in death by Demetra Ganavazos (Nick) and Pota Seitanakis (Ari); also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and Godchildren. Aphrodite and Emanuel were married in Johnstown , PA 57 years ago and spent many of those years in New York City where Aphrodite worked on Wall Street. After retiring in 2002, Aphrodite and Emanuel moved to Pittsburgh in 2003 where she joined St. Nicholas Cathedral and became a longtime member of the Philoptochos Society. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Sunday February 25, 2024 from 1 - 5p.m. with Trisagion Service at 4p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday February 26 from 9a.m. until a 10a.m. Funeral in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral with interment in Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 419 S. Dithridge St. Pgh., PA 15213 or St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church 435 Somerset St. Johnstown, PA 15901
