Kristin Ifft Wells, 55, peacefully passed away in her sleep on March 6th, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
For years, Kristi quietly fought breast cancer. She chose not to burden others with worry or allow her illness to overshadow the present. Or as she aptly put it, “there’s much more to life than this damn disease.” A respected equity partner at Reed Smith LLC, Kristi led deals for numerous global corporations, including notable work for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
As distinguished as her career was, there’s no doubt Kristi’s greatest joy was her daughter Chloe. She was so happy to have made it to see Chloe graduate high school and attend Wake Forest University.
Aunt Kristi adored her nieces and nephews. Whether through a heartfelt call or a warm hug, she made sure they always felt cherished and valued. It was so important to her they knew the depth of her love regardless of any circumstances.
Known for her vibrant red hair, radiant smile, and signature style of dress, Kristi exuded a quiet grace. She had such poise. Whether it be an outfit or how a room was decorated, you just knew with Kristi it would be tasteful and beautiful. As one friend said, she just made everything better.
We are truly grateful to have had her in our lives. That she was so loved, and will be missed by so many proved her right, there was “much more to life” than her illness. She will be forever missed by her husband Tim Wells, daughter Chloe, father Edward C. Ifft Jr., and siblings Heidi, Dana (Patrick Kelly), Eddie (Lauren Franks), and John (Jayna Varley).
A private family mass was held at Saint Scholastica Church in Aspinwall, followed by her burial at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Greenfield alongside her beloved mother Audrey Smith Ifft.
