Dr. Michael J. Daly

Michael Joseph Daly, passed peacefully on Saturday May 29th 2021. He was born June 20, 1956, and was originally from Silver Spring, Md. He attended Our Lady of Good Counsel High School and Georgetown University undergraduate and medical schools. Once completing his pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh became his permanent home. Michael along with Dr. Lisa Hwang, established Caring Hands pediatrics on March 17th 2007. He cared for many, many, children and advised their parents in his calm, respectful, caring style. In his free time, he enjoyed travel, good food, music, family and friends, but also relished time relaxing at home. Michael was the devoted spouse of Erich J.Cirilano, together for 34 years. He was the son of Charles P. Daly, Sr. (deceased), and Jude Daly Seamone (Woody), of Lewes, Delaware. He was the loving brother of Kathleen Daly Hirsch (Jeff), Charles Jr. “Chuck” Daly, (Cheri), Timothy Daly, (Peg), Christopher Daly, Mary Eloise Daly (deceased), Dr. Patrick Daly (Joan), Kevin Daly (Teresa) as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dr. Daly was greatly loved by his patients, their parents and staff. His kindness, and generous nature were played out each day in the time with his patients, family and friends. He will be greatly missed by each but will be remembered for his love of laughter and good humor. His affection for Erich was unconditional.  All these things will sustain those that cared for Michael and carry them through his untimely passing. Friends will be received at John A. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Tuesday June 15th from 4-7p.m Funeral Wednesday June 16th, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral, 108 N. Dithridge Street at 10a.m. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery Moon Twp.PA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to “gift a Mass” at The Seraphic Mass Association, Or Catholic Charities.
