E. Bruce Adlard

On Saturday August 28, 2021, E. Bruce Adlard. On November 10, 1933, Margaret Cross Adlard wrote in her journal “I had a beautiful baby boy today.” With this memory, found in an attic 70 years later, E. Bruce Adlard son of the late Maggie and Walter E. Adlard of Cleveland, Ohio; Partner of over 40 years to the late Paul Brecht; brother of Mary Ellen Adlard Wallace and Joanne Adlard Callahan; uncle of eight nieces and nephews and twelve grandnieces and grandnephews, was welcomed into the world and into two large and loving families. After a transfer to Pittsburgh, Bruce grew from boy to young man and attended the University of Cincinnati earning a degree in Interior Design and pursued a career in commercial and private design in Pittsburgh and St. Croix, Virgin Islands.  Bruce was a principled, steadfast artistic man who loved his family, friends and community and who inspired us all to live our best lives. We will miss him very much. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Thursday from 4-7p.m. Funeral Friday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Bede Church at 10a.m. Interment will be private.
