On Wednesday April 24, 2024, Kevin J. Altomari, age 68, died peacefully at home after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Cindy Altomari and the late Dawn Gideon. Son of Lena Altomari and the late Joseph A. Altomari. Brother of Roxanne Markle (Howard). Stepfather of Alayna Hanek and Zachary Hanek. Also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters-in-law. Kevin was past President of Edgewood Country Club and was Dean of General Studies and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh. He began his own consulting business, “The Redan Group”, specializing in strategic management. A graduate of Duquesne University Class of 1978 where he was a member of the ATO Fraternity. He then received master’s degrees from Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh. Kevin was a member of the Army ROTC and was an Eagle Scout. He began a foundation in the memory of his late wife, The Dawn Gideon Foundation, which provides scholarships for women pursuing degrees in Health Care Administration. Kevin was an avid golfer and played many of the country’s best courses. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed fine food and wine, good cigars and spending time with his friends.
