Angela S. Mico

Angela Mico, age 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday December 11, 2024, after battling pancreatic cancer. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Mico; devoted mother to Joseph (Jennifer) Mico and Rosalba (Lloyd) Wolf; cherished Nonna to her granddaughters Christina (Josh) Coyne, Katarina Mico, Melissa (Logan) Gutchess, and Angelina Mico; loving sister of Tom (Denise) Papa; aunt, cousin and friend to many others.

Angela, Antonio, and their young children immigrated to the United States in 1968 from Calabria, Italy.  Angela helped her family realize the American dream through her work in Environmental Services at West Penn Hospital. Her nurturing spirit was evident by the countless hours she spent in her garden growing fresh food.  Angela enjoyed cooking traditional Calabrese dishes, word search puzzles, and playing the Italian card game, Scopa - all activities that brought her joy and relaxation.

Angela's life was marked by her devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, humility, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her. Angela's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8pm on Monday, December 16, at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) , 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Raphael Church, 1154 Chislett Street, Pittsburgh, PA on Tuesday, December 17, at 10 a.m. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
