On Thursday, December 19, 2024, age 91, died peacefully. A life-long resident of Panther Hollow in Oakland, Annie was the wife of the late John G. Casciato and the loving and devoted mother of Mary Ann Casciato, Angela Casciato, Anna Marie Pozycki (James), and Roseann Casciato. She was the proud Nonna of Johna Ponterio (Jeff) and James Pozycki (Gabby) and Great-Nonna of Giada Ponterio. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews, and friends who were a big part of her life. Annie is also survived by her sisters Yolanda Caruso and Nickie Caruso. She was preceded in death by her parents Rosa Anna (Bucci) and Antonio Caruso; her sisters and brothers Mary (Wilbur) Gigliotti, Angela (Lawrence) Dandrea, Joseph (Edith) Caruso and Patrick (Beatrice) Caruso; and her in-laws Robert (survived by Audrey) Casciato, Dan (survived by Anna) Casciato, and Charles (Mary) Casciato. Annie was a Bell Telephone operator until she and John started their family, and was strong in her faith, which guided her daily life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, annual canning events, word searches, watching western movies particularly John Wayne, and was an avid sports fan. Annie loved her family and friends and was happiest when spending time with them and celebrating family traditions. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.
