Anne Petro, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 10, 2025. Her life was a testament to the self-less giving and loving nature of our Lord. Having immigrated to the US via Canada from her birthplace in Slovakia, she was proud of her heritage and of her US citizenship. Anne graduated from Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing at McMasters University in Hamilton, Ontario Canada moving to the US after marrying John, a proud Army active service veteran of the Korean war. They settled with their family in Pittsburgh where she worked as a registered nurse at many hospitals including Magee Women’s and Eye and Ear Hospital for decades until retirement. An avid volunteer, she loved her Senior Center Dining Out group and seeing everyone come together each month after planning a new place for all to gather and share a meal.
Anne is survived by her three children: Deborah Kreahling (Ed), Dr. Pam Petro-Ott (Troy Ott, deceased) and Greg Petro (Susan). She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Elana Meller (Ryan), Nick Petro (Ashley), Michaela Ott, Alex Ott and Luke Petro. Anne was also an Aunt, Great Aunt, and Great-Great Aunt to many who she loved dearly both here in the US and Canada. Her Husband John, Parents John and Barbara Petro, Sisters Mary Lorence and Barbara Morellato Allen, Son-in-Law, Troy Ott, many friends and neighbors preceded her in this life, and she missed them terribly.
