They married in 1957. The Gordons lived in New York City; Carlisle, Pa.; and Pittsburgh. After her two children were born, she enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and earned a master’s degree in library science. She started her career as a librarian at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and later moved to the University of Pittsburgh, where she served as the librarian for the art history department and then as a reference librarian at Hillman Library. After retirement, she enjoyed reading, walking in Pittsburgh and traveling to historic parts of Pennsylvania and other states. She loved good food, beautiful scenery and the company of her family. Mrs. Gordon is survived by her daughter, Richelle “Rich” Gordon, of Evanston, IL; her son, Thomas Hale Gordon, of Pittsburgh; her grandson, Conrad Gordon of Hyde Park, IL; and her longtime companion, Bernard Goldstein, of Washington, DC.
