Barbara Calpin Menner, age 84, of Oakland and formerly of Shadyside, passed away on Tuesday,  January 23, 2024.  She was born on January 16, 1940 in Johnstown, PA, and was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Myra Calpin, and her brother, Jim Calpin.  Barb is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul J. Menner, and by her daughter Kelly Menner Castner (James), her son PJ Menner (Katherine), and her grandchildren Kelsey and Jamie Castner and William Menner. A graduate of St. Francis Nursing School, Barb practiced nursing in Pittsburgh for many years.  After retirement, she and her husband traveled extensively. She loved her family and friends, who will miss her dearly. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Friday, January 26 from 4-8p.m. Funeral Saturday January 27, 2024, Mass of Christian Burial St. Paul Cathedral 10a.m. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private.
