Barbara Hill Moriarty

On Monday December 2, 2024, age 96, beloved wife of the late Elliott P. “Buzz” Moriarty, Jr. for 63 years; survived by one son, Michael and his wife Gordana and their children, Tara and Luka of London U.K.; and one daughter Adele and her husband, Bill and their son , Daniel; she is pre-deceased by her parents, Adele and Albert Hill and her siblings, Mike Hill, George Hill and Carolyn “Lindy” Hill Finnegan; also survived by two sisters-in-law, Joan and Nancy  and nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Barbara attended and graduated from Mt. Mercy Academy and attended University of Pittsburgh. After marriage to Buzz in 1955, the couple raised their family on the Moriarty Horse Farm in Saxonburg where they lived for over 40 years until moving to Oakland in 2010. Barbara enjoyed traveling overseas, swimming, gardening and was an avid Pitt Sports Fan. There will be no visitation. Funeral Thursday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
