Obituary

Carroll Ryan Quinn, 66, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on Friday September 2, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian with family by his side. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Lori; children, Ryan (Lauren) Quinn, Christopher (Chelsie) Quinn, and Joanna (Jay) Bell; 8 grandchildren, Jackson, Juliet, Preston, Marshall, Elliott, Finley, Quinn and Willow; siblings Tom (Judy) Quinn, Andy (Carol) Quinn, Denise (TK) Kossuth; cousin Mary McDonough; brother and sister in law, Artie and Stefanie, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

Carroll was born in Philadelphia, PA to Tom and Denise Quinn. As a teen, he worked in the family business running the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh. He graduated from Villanova University. His career eventually turned to the newspaper business with notable jobs at the Baltimore Sun, Chicago Sun-Times, and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Upon retiring from the newspaper business, Carroll took on the role of Vice President/General Manager at Comcast Cable in the tri state area. He then became Chief Operating Officer at AMG Holdings, an advertising agency in Greensburg, PA.

Carroll’s interests include golf, cooking, skiing, travel, joke telling and spending time with his family. 

Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Monday September 5 from 11a.m.-3p.m. where the Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday September 6 at 10:30a.m.followed by a celebration of life at 1p.m. at Bella Terra Vineyards in Hunker, Pa. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to Manchester Bidwell Corporation.
