Catherine M. Sugarbaker

Catherine Mongiello Sugarbaker, known affectionally by her grandchildren as “Nanny” died peacefully on Monday November 8, 2021 in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her daughter Katy Sugarbaker Caliguiri (David) of Pittsburgh and her grandchildren Maxwell 18, Ellie 16, and Sampson, 10 as well as her brothers James Mongiello of Florida & Americo Mongiello of New York and many nieces & nephews.  She is predeceased by her parents James and Anne Mongiello and a son Everett Mongiello. Cathy was a registered nurse for many years in Miami Florida.  She enjoyed traveling to Italy with friends & family and got immense joy spending time with her grandchildren. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 9th at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.(freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street from 5:00 pm – 7:00pm. where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10th at 10:30 am. Interment will be private.
