David A. Presser Obituary

David A. Presser, 75, passed away on July 12, 2024. David was born on November 26, 1948. He was raised in ‘Sliberty (now known as the East Side), graduating from Peabody High School in 1966. He attended Duquesne University for both undergraduate and law schools, going on to become a well-loved and respected worker’s compensation attorney in Pittsburgh for over thirty years.
He was a kindhearted and loyal friend whose generosity knew no bounds. Whatever you needed— a ride, a loan, a piece of advice— David had it at the ready. He cultivated and maintained countless lifelong friendships, the oldest spanning over seven decades. The consummate jokester, David had the ability to find humor in any situation— often ill-timed and inappropriate, always hilarious. His illness never dulled his quick wit or his penchant for getting a laugh by any means necessary.
David loved all animals, especially dogs. From a young age, he was never without a canine companion at his side. Over the years, the list grew, from his first dog Champ, to include Phroboda, Hannah, Mattie, Sam, Larry, Tana, Timmy, Cassie, Artie, Gina, Yammi, and Bubby. He loved nothing more than a long walk in the park with his pups followed by a nap sandwiched among them. He will be greatly missed by his dogs Roxy, Willie, and Maizie, cats Leo and Ziggy, and granddog Buddy.
He was an ally to women and minorities and a staunch advocate for equal rights for all. He loved baseball (particularly the San Francisco Giants), vacations at the beach, watching Jeopardy!, and all things comedy. He was a film buff (and unofficial critic) who always had a line from one of his favorite movies on standby.
Above all, David lived passionately and loved fiercely. He was a devoted husband and father, beloved son, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed by his wife Claudia, daughters Rebecca (Ryan) and Sabrina, stepson Arpad Lep, and absolute pride and joy, his grandson Henry.
He also leaves behind his cherished nieces and nephews from Pittsburgh, Jennifer (Harry) Maroney, Jeff (Riva) and John Szalajda, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins across the country.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Mary Rose Presser, his sister Judy (John) Szalajda, his brothers Tom and Bill (Doris) Allman, and his second wife Rita.

Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.
