On Sunday, May 10, 2026, David went home to be with our Lord. He is reunited with his beloved parents, Dave Gibson Sr. and Judy Gibson, and his dear nephew, Michael Poth. He is survived by his sisters, Robin (Joe) Poth, Kelly (Rege) Gibson, and Shannon Gibson. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Rick (Rachael), Cara, Nick (Caylin), Cailee and Emma Poth, Dustin (Alexa) Grabowski, Nicole (Sam) Grabowski, Jordan (Ryne) Reiff, great-niece and great-nephews, Stefen, Alona, and Kalum Poth. David loved nothing more than casting a reel at North Park or on the Allegheny River. He was a true rock-n-roll fan and loved all things Pittsburgh, especially the Penguins, Steelers and Pirates. A true Yinzer! He also loved all animals, but especially cats. David’s path in life was never the easiest. His struggles with addiction often overshadowed his kind and caring heart and quick-witted sense of humor. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace. There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 19 at 10:00 am at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish, St. Augustine Church. Interment at Allegheny Cemetery. Arrangements by John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.
