Dr. Ralph C. Affinito Obituary

Ralph C. Affinito Jr., 82, of Pittsburgh, PA, and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Naples. Ralph was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose legacy of kindness, compassion, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on May 25, 1942, in Monongahela, PA, Ralph was the son of Ralph C. Affinito Sr. and Lena Dallo Affinito. He was a proud graduate of Monongahela High School in 1960 and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Ralph continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class.

After completing his studies, Ralph proudly served as a dentist in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return to civilian life, he opened his private dental practice in Allison Park, PA, where he dedicated over 40 years to providing exceptional care to his patients. Known for his warmth, skill, and honesty, Ralph built lifelong relationships with his patients, staff, and the community.

Ralph had a passion for the game of golf, and he cherished the time spent at Wildwood Country Club, where he served as president. In retirement, he continued his love for the game at Butler Country Club and Treesdale Golf & Country Club, where he became a proud member of the "Jacks" and "Creekers." While he took pride in his many accomplishments, including shooting his age well into his 70s and 80s, it was the friends he made along the way that truly fueled his love of the game.

In the winter, Ralph built a close network of friends in Naples, FL, where he was an active and popular member of the Country Club of Naples and the Meridian Condo Association. He made time for everyone around him and will be remembered for making each person feel special.

Ralph’s love of life extended beyond golf to music, particularly bluegrass music and the banjo. He found great joy in playing and learning, attending local jam sessions, bluegrass concerts, and banjo retreats in Winchester, Virginia. His love of music, especially the banjo, was a significant part of his life, and he enjoyed connecting with fellow musicians and music lovers.

Above all, Ralph was deeply proud of his family. He is survived by his children, David (Allison) Affinito and James (Kelly) Affinito; four cherished grandchildren, Ansley, Bailey, Wells, and Collins Affinito; nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephew, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Lilyan and Emma (John).

Ralph’s enduring legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to his family, friends, and community will be missed but never forgotten. His life was marked by service and unwavering support of others, and his ability to find joy in simple pleasures, like a banjo jam session or a round of golf with friends. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
