Hugh Van der Veer Obituary

Hugh G. Van der Veer, III died in Stuart, Florida on January 4, 2022 at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving wife, Lucie, his treasured children, Hugh, of Pittsburgh, and Barbara (Luis Longo), of Madrid, his adorable granddaughters Emma and Megan and his dear brother Lin (Corinna) of Bethlehem, Pa. The family is particularly grateful to have enjoyed the month of December together in Florida. Hugh retired from Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney after practicing law for nearly 40 years. As a result of the current Covid surge, the family will hold the memorial service at the East Liberty Presbyterian Church on April 9, 2022. Full details will be announced closer to the date. If so inclined, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh, 3459 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
