Jacquelyn Wilson Hill Obituary

Jacquelyn Wilson Hill died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the age of 90.  She was the beloved wife of the late Bruce Urton Hill, Jr; mother of Bruce Urton Hill III (Julie), Robert Douglas Hill (Christina), Virginia Susanne Hill Gierl (Steve) and Nancy Hill Beluk (George).  She is survived by nine grandchildren – Morgan (Justin), Taylor (Nate), and Brady Hill; Justin, Robert (Erin), Cassidy (Peter) and Molly (Elijah) Gierl; Andrew (Rebecca) and Daniel (Juliette) Beluk; and four great-grandchildren – Sloan Snyder, Elijah Berry Beluk, Eleanor Errington, and Gabriel Gierl; and treasured family friend Michael Walker. Jacquie is the daughter of the late Josephine Harrison Wilson and Charles Reginald Wilson, and sister of the late Dr. Charles Reginald Wilson, Jr (Geraldine). Jacquie and her brother, Reg, were fortunate to grow up in the Roosevelt Hotel where their father was the manager.  She attended Winchester-Thurston School and Mt. Holyoke College.  She and Bruce had 61 wonderful years together before Bruce passed in 2016.  At the top of their “blessings list” were the many wonderful memories created from their numerous family trips together with their children and grandchildren. Jacquie will be remembered for her generous nature and kind soul.  A visit from her would brighten your day.  She was always available with a shoulder to lean on or an ear to listen.  She never forgot a birthday and was magically able to have your card arrive on the exact day.  She mastered the art of email later in life and it became her mission to see if she could fit her entire message onto the subject line, much to the amazement of her children.  But you were wise not to look at the time stamp as it was well past everyone’s bedtime.  True to her spirit, every email ended with the same single word…love. Her family would like to personally thank the hospice staff who cared for her, keeping her pain-free with dignity, thus witnessing first-hand, her fighting nature.  They also wish to acknowledge her personal care giver, Michele Suprano, who stayed by her side throughout her final days. A family Blessing Service will take place at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc., (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 2 p.m., followed by visitation with the family from 3 to 7 p.m. A “Celebration of Life”, Irish-style pub crawl, for both Jacquie and Bruce Hill will be held at Longwood at Oakmont on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
