John Paul Bridges
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Paul Bridges on January 19, 2025, at the age of 56. John was born to Paul and Ann Bridges in Fairmont, West Virginia on July 31, 1968.
John was a loving spouse, father, son, uncle, sibling and friend of many. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carla, son Benjamin and daughter Sara. He was preceded in death by his sister Susan and his father Paul. He is survived by his mother, Ann, his brother-in-law Eric, niece Anna, nephew Sam and other friends and relatives.
John graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in Pittsburgh. He attended the University of Richmond where he earned a B.S. in Business and Chemistry, was a member of the Order of Omega, played lacrosse and rugby and was a leader in the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He then earned an M.B.A in Finance and Environmental Business from The George Washington University and was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. During this time, John met Carla Bagwell, who would become the love of his life. John was known and loved for his zest for life, his constant humor and kindness. He dedicated his life to his family, spending many hours traveling, laughing and playing sports. John naturally established a connection with people and had many close friends. John was an avid wiffle-baller, golfer and skier who cherished time spent on these and other activities with his family and friends.
John worked in Financial Forecasting with a focus on Performance Management Solutions and Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting for Life Sciences. He was a capable, thoughtful and talented leader.
John was well-loved and will be forever missed.
Friends will be received on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 9:30-10:30AM at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street. Funeral Services will be held directly following at 11:30AM in the Chapel of Homewood Cemetery (Dallas and Forbes Avenues). In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree or giving donations to The Humane Society of Charlotte.
