John Francis Coyne Obituary

John Francis Coyne, of Regent Square, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2025.  

 He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Wallace) Coyne; and the father of John Coyne (Susan) of Spring, Texas, and Gerald Coyne (Judy) of Fox Chapel. He was the devoted grandfather of Brittany, Patrick, Delaney, Chloe, and Chelsea; and great-grandfather of Kennedy and Cori. 

 John served his country in the United States Army stationed in Germany.  John also served the city of Pittsburgh, first as a Police Officer and later as a Firefighter, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. 

 John was happiest with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He always put his family first for which they are eternally grateful.

 John is survived by his sisters-in-law, Norene Coyne and Marilyn Wallace; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary (Connolly) Coyne; his sisters, Patricia Gazzam and Catherine Slingwine and brothers Joseph, James, Peter, Thomas and Coleman Coyne.  A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 17, 2025 at St. Paul Cathedral at 10:00AM, with a Celebration of Life luncheon to immediately follow.
