Kunsheng Guan

Kunsheng Guan passed away in Shadyside Hospital on Wednesday September 27, 2023 of pneumonia, surrounded by his two children. He was born in Beijing, China on or about September 15, 1929.  He was born to Zenxiang Guan (father) and Xiating Guan (mother).  He was the second oldest of 5 children.  He left school at a young age to support his family and to enable his siblings to attend school, which was not free at that time. This was just the first of many sacrifices he would make throughout his life to support his family.  As an adult, he faithfully worked as a bus dispatcher for 36 years in the Public Transportation Authority of Beijing.  In 2019, he and his wife emigrated to the USA to live with their son in Pittsburgh, Pa. 
Kunsheng is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jiying Zhang, their daughter, Meiling Guan, their son, Boquan Guan, their grandson, Yacheng Wang, and their great grandson, Jingshuo Wang.  He was buried in Calvary Cemetery with only the immediate family in attendance.
