On Monday October 20, 2025 at age 93, beloved wife of the late Gerard Anthony Pompa; mother of Gerard A. Pompa, Jr. (Susan Pompa), Gina Marie Pompa, Amy Santucci (Francesco Santucci, M.D.) and Richard D. Pompa (Michelle Neely); grandmother of Anthony Gerard Pompa, M.D.(Dana), Annelise Holtz (Richard), Michael Francis Pompa (Kathryn), Domenico Gerard Nicassio, Maria Dominique Nicassio, Vittorio Alexander Santucci, J.D., Christopher Gerard Santucci, M.D.(Lindsey), Daniella Arabella Santucci, and Darlene Amelia Pompa; great-grandmother of Dominic Gerard Pompa, and Juliana Marie Pompa. LaVerne was the youngest daughter of the late Elvira and Domenico DePastino and was pre-deceased by all of her siblings. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, and was also pre-deceased by her beloved canine best friend, Snoball. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) on Friday October 24, 2025, from 3-7PM. Funeral Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial St. Raphael Church of St. Jude Parish at 10AM. Remembrances may be made to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh or Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (Hamilton Avenue).
