Lawrence "Larry" Lander

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved father, Lawrence “Larry” Lander, on Monday, April 6, 2026. Lawrence is survived by his two sons, Stephen and David Lander (Kelley), as well as his cherished grandson, Champ Lander.  He is also survived by his former wife Gloria.

Lawrence was a devout Catholic who attended daily mass and served those in need through his work with St. Vincent DePaul for over 40 years.  He also took pride in his work as a mathematician and college professor.  His hobbies included golf, chess, studying history and following Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Penguins.

Larry was known for his kindness, sense of humor and his quick wit.  His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) on Thursday April 9, 2026 from 4-8PM. Funeral Friday April 10, 2026, Mass of Christian Burial St. Raphael Church of St. Jude Parish at 10:00AM.
