Louis Wassermann Obituary

Age 96, born in Pittsburgh on May 12, 1929 and passed away on Friday January 9, 2026.  Lou was husband to Laurel Ann (deceased) and is survived by his brother Joseph Wassermann, his stepchildren Lianne S. Greve (Eric), Robert Sproul (Bridget) and Shanna Jo Steinmiller (Eddie).  Lou is also survived by his grandchildren Alex Greve, Christopher Greve, David Greve and Ethan Sproul and great granddaughters Gwendolyn Greve and Aurora Greve.  Lou was an avid sports fan who loved his Pittsburgh sports teams.  On summer days Lou could be found close to his radio listening to Pirates games, Steeler games in the fall and Penguin games in the winter. Prior to its closing in 2009, Lou spent many years as a volunteer repairing radios at Radio Information Service, a reading service for the visually impaired. He loved to garden growing tomatoes on his balcony, in later years and tending his many indoor plants.    He was a devout Catholic and supported charities and programs run by the Diocese.  A kind and loving man, Lou will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his close friends Holly and Kate.
