Margaret Coyne Obituary

Margaret A. Coyne, of Regent Square, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024. Known as “Honey” to her friends and family. She was the beloved wife of John F. Coyne and loving mother of John Coyne (Susan) of Spring, Texas and Gerald Coyne (Judy) of Fox Chapel. She was the devoted grandmother of Brittany, Patrick, Delaney, Chloe and Chelsea, and great grandmother of Kennedy and Cori. Margaret, a graduate of St. Raphael High school, served as a Pittsburgh Police Officer from 1977 until 1997 when she retired from the force with the rank of Sergeant. She was happiest with her grandchildren, watching old movies, listening to music or playing cards with her friends. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Marilyn Wallace and Norene Coyne, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Patrick Wallace Sr., her sister Mary and brother-in-law Edmond Downey, brother Victor and sister-in-law Roseann Wallace, and her brother Patrick Wallace Jr.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday May 18, 2024 at St. Paul Cathedral at 10AM. A Celebration of Life Luncheon at Riverside Landings 12 Washington Avenue Oakmont, PA 15139 will follow at 11:30 AM .   Arrangements by John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com)
