Of Mount Lebanon, PA peacefully passed away on Thursday March 18, 2021 at the age of 95. Born in Squirrel Hill, PA on June 24, 1925. Jeanette was the fifth child of Joseph Raymond and Janet (Curley) Donahue’s eight children.
Growing up in Pittsburgh and some years in Philadelphia, Jeanette always had a passion for sports as an athlete and fan. She was a proud Pittsburgh sports fan all her life. She played tennis, field hockey, lacrosse and excelled as a Mount Mercy Academy basketball shooting guard in her younger years. Sports became an even bigger part of her life when she married Silas J. Titus from Brooklyn, NY a former Pittsburgh Steeler on July 15, 1950. Jeanette was also very proud of her Irish heritage and a true American patriot.
She was predeceased by her husband, parents and her siblings: J. Ray Donahue, Walter R. Donahue, Dorothy Stoecklein, Patsy Monteverde, Margie Duggan Carroll, Elsie Reynolds and Barbara Harford. She is survived by many cherished nieces and nephews and her beloved children: Virginia Uram of Carnegie, PA; John Titus (Sheila) of Stamford, CT; Jeanette Lockovich (Michael H.) of Whitehall, PA; Thomas Titus of Pittsburgh, PA; Barbara Dean (Lawrence) of Mt. Lebanon, PA; Ellen Cannon (John) of Shaker Heights, OH; and Patricia Garwig (Daniel) of Upper St. Clair, PA.
Her beloved grandchildren: Violet, Zachary, and Tanya Uram; Anne Madden (David) and William Silas Titus (Anne); Peter Lockovich; Patrick, Heather, and Taylor Dean; Jay, Andrew, and Caroline Cannon; Alex and Casey Garwig.
Her beloved great grandchildren: Owen, William, and Miles Donahue Madden; William Silas Titus, Jr.
Jeanette was dedicated to her family always putting them first. She had a special relationship with each grandchild which they will forever cherish.
Visitation will be private. Funeral Monday March 22, 2021, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral at 10a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities, Pittsburgh PA. Arrangements by John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome .com)
