Heaven gained a beautiful Angel when Marjorie peacefully passed into the hands of the Lord on Wednesday April 26, 2023 She was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on December 19, 1925 to Elsie Fowler and Charles Thomas Bennett. Marjorie graduated from Wilkinsburg High School and Chatham College with a degree in English. She worked as an Executive Secretary at Westinghouse . She was a long standing member of Third Presbyterian Church and was involved in the women’s group and later became a secretary at the church. Marjorie loved all animals but especially her dogs Lady, Cindy and Buffy. She met her husband Charles Sherts while bowling at Third Church. Together they enjoyed many years of square dancing, Bowling, Bible Study, Ocean City, New Jersey summer vacations, poker and bridge clubs, Regent Square activities and entertaining. Marjorie was very active in her children’s lives. She volunteered often at Regent Square Elementary School, watched many a sports game cheering her kids on and was active in Third Presbyterian Church Children’s Ministries. She is the beloved wife of the late Charles Sherts and is survived by her three children James H Sherts, Thomas Charles Sherts (Diana) all of Pittsburgh , and Karen Sherts Miller of Chester Springs PA, ;four grandchildren Craig Sherts Miller (Caitlin) of Pittsburgh , Cory William Miller(Katie) of Richmond VA, Melissa Ann Miller(Derek) and their daughter Savannah Ann Miller of Summerville SC, and Trevor Charles Sherts of Detroit MI. She is also predeceased by her mother and father. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 29, 2023 at the Third Presbyterian Church (Fifth and Negley Avenues) at 11a.m. Interment is private.
