Mark Allen Krofchik of Fox Chapel, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 30th, 2024.
A graduate of Valley High School, Mark went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a M.S. in Computer Aided Engineering and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. While at CMU he was a member of the Green Design Consortium where he designed and developed a web-based system that delivers searchable environmental standards to organizations worldwide. He went on to found Markrof Systems, LLC, where, for over twenty-five years, he delivered enterprise software solutions for corporations and government agencies. His work includes traffic and safety software used by law enforcement agencies nationwide. He was Vice President, Board of Directors of Carnegie Delta Upsilon Alumni Association, and a member of the Andrew Carnegie Society. He proudly served as a Session Elder and a Madison County N.C. Housing Coalition volunteer at Shadyside Presbyterian Church.
Most importantly he was known as a generous and caring spirit who deeply impacted the lives of those who knew him. As scripture says, he was no respecter of persons, seeing everyone as having equal worth and value. He is survived by his proudest accomplishment and skiing companion, his son William, and by his cherished wife Sherri of Fox Chapel. He was a devoted son to the late Joan Krofchik of New Kensington and a treasured son-in-law to Marietta and William Padrick of Murrysville. He was a beloved brother-in-law to Michelle Sapp of Marlton, N.J., and the generous uncle of Virginia Sapp of Philadelphia, Pa, and Fletcher Sapp of Nashville, TN. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at Shadyside Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Arrangements by John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com)
