Mary Jane Walsh died peacefully at home in Fort Lauderdale, FL on July 22, 2023. She is survived by her adoring husband of 58 years Al Walsh; her 3 children and their spouses, James and Cindy Walsh, John and Jeannine Walsh, Jennifer and Eric Watson; 4 grandchildren Lily Walsh, Ben Watson, Reagan Watson and Riley Watson; 3 step-grandchildren Jordan, Jayne and Jack Bowen; 2 brothers and their spouses Philip and Rose Seifried, Ed and Robin Seifried; in-laws Tom and Joyce Walsh, Kay Hoffman, Betty Caputo; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was born April 24 th , 1943 and grew up in the North Hills, graduated from Shaler High School. She loved hosting holidays, skiing, traveling, baking cookies, and teaching faith formation at multiple
churches over the years. She was not only a wonderful wife but a great entrepreneur partner in creating their business Food Service Specialist. She definitely had a sense of adventure; from riding a bike from Orlando to Hollywood (FL), taking the train to New York to see Broadway shows, traveling through Europe, to skiing in Zermatt and having some beers along the way! The best Mom and Memaw anyone could ask for.
Jane was a wonderful grandma "Memaw" who loved walking on the beach with Lily collecting only the
best seashells and cautioning about Man-o-War, watching Riley create Lego masterpieces, very proud of all Reagans artwork for her walker and enjoyed playing on the iPad with Ben.
A very special thank you to her nephew and nieces, Wayne and Patty Landy and Pam Cusano. Your love and care throughout her battle with Parkinson’s was unbelievable. We are forever grateful. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Friday from 5-7p.m. Funeral Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral 10a.m. Remembrances may be made to Catholic Hospice Services at https://www.catholichealthservices.org/donate/ or Saint Paul’s Cathedral at https://www.osvhub.com/stpaulpgh/giving/funds
