Nancy Hughes Solomon, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 25, 2024. Born on February 1, 1933, to Bernard and Virginia (Conley) Hughes, Nancy is preceded in death by her loving husband William Solomon and sister Virginia Hughes and brother Bernie Hughes. Nancy is survived by her son Paul Solomon (Denise Trexler-Solomon), son Bill Solomon, grandchildren Kyle and Alexis, brother Richard Hughes, sister-in-law Carolyn Hughes, and many beloved in-laws, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Nancy grew up in Shadyside. Blessed with a beautiful voice, she sang with the Civic Light Opera and performed in Supper Clubs. She also starred in the musical Kismet. She later moved to Mt. Lebanon to raise a family. Nancy retired to Florida. She and her husband Bill enjoyed the sun and sand and beautiful landscape for many years in Sarasota. You could often find her enjoying the pool or tending to her beautiful orchids and birds of paradise. Nancy loved to travel throughout the US and many other countries of the world. Nancy enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir. Nancy loved to sing and will be remembered by her beautiful rendition of the Ave Maria which she also proudly sang at the Vatican several times, the highlight of her musical career. Nancy spent her final years back in Mt. Lebanon and enjoyed spending time with family. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.
