Nikos P. Andrianos, 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on May 1, 2026. Born on May 1, 1947, in Piraeus, Greece, he was the son of Panagiotis Andrianos of Salamina, Greece, and Kalliopi Samios of Kythira, Greece. A lifelong seeker of knowledge, he devoted himself to learning, discovery, and the pursuit of understanding.
Mr. Andrianos was a physicist, mathematician, author, and engineer whose curiosity and discipline shaped both his career and his character. He was known for his sharp mind, his thoughtful approach to every problem, and his unwavering commitment to education and intellectual growth. He found joy in learning, playing musical instruments, returning to Greece, and spending treasured time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his brothers, Costas Andrianos and Thomas Andrianos; his son, Theodore Andrianos (Emilee); and his granddaughters, Lillianna Andrianos and Olivia Andrianos, who were the joy of his life and who will carry forward 'Papou's' love of learning and quiet strength.
A service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 23rd, at the Bradford Woods Community Church (4836 Wexford Run Rd, Bradford Woods, PA 15015), with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local library or the American Association for Cancer Research. Arrangements by John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc.
