Robert Scheib, Jr. Obituary

Robert J. Scheib, Jr. at 89, after a courageous battle with amyloidosis, passed peacefully to be with his Lord while at home in O’Hara Township with family by his side on February 19, 2021. “Bob” was born to Robert Sr. and Eileen (Smith) Scheib on March 21, 1931 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Bob attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Central Catholic High schooled in Christianity and a strong work ethic.

At the age of 14, Bob met the love of his life, Marilyn Sweeting, at a soda fountain. He offered to get her a better rose than the one she was wearing in her hair from another suitor, and he did. This was the beginning of Bob’s career as a sales rep and they married on May 30, 1951 at Sacred Heart Church.  Always inseparable, a truer love there never was. Bob continued his sales career in wholesale sporting goods which he enjoyed every day. He would come home from work six days a week filled with stories he shared with his family of the people he met in his travels. Bob loved to hunt and fish, and he loved to talk about hunting and fishing. But more than anything, he loved his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn and a devoted father to Mary Elizabeth (John) Johns, and Robert J. Scheib, III; five grandchildren: Jonathan Daniels, Katherine (Kevin) Schram, Robert J. (Lily) Scheib IV, Brett Scheib, and Drew Scheib; and five great-grandchildren: Ivana Daniels, Dante Daniels, J.P. Daniels, Nicolas Daniels, and Robert J. Scheib V.  He is also survived by brother Benjamin (Arline) Scheib and sisters Bette Shorall and Marie Gray as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
