ROBERT “BOB” NEVIN SINSHEIMER: Born on May 29, 1955 in Rochester, NY and died in Pittsburgh, PA on Saturday, October 5, 2024, beloved husband of the late Gretchen Guelde; loving brother of Ann Sinsheimer (Marvin Sirbu) and father of Andrew Sinsheimer (Jessica Marcrum), Greta (Marquis) Barnes, and Rebecca (Chris) Ray; grandfather of Miles, Carson, and Harrison Barnes and Leo, Savannah, Jaxon, and Ethan Ray. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ruth Sinsheimer and sister, Janet Sinsheimer.
He attended Kalamazoo College (Class of 1977) where he studied math and sociology, later earning a masters in statistics at the University of Michigan. After arriving in Washington, DC, for a job with the Census Bureau, Bob spent almost his entire career working for the Administrative Office of the United States Courts. Bob retired in 2010 from his role as Chief of the Office of IT Security, then moved to Pittsburgh, PA, in 2014 to be near his son following the death of his late wife.
An avid DIY-er and devoted family man, Bob was also a lover of music, games, and good beer. An easygoing soul and good friend to those who knew him, he will be missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 2, 2024 at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street and may be viewed via Facebook Live at www.freyvogelfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) or the Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH).
