Sister Elizabeth Marie Kelly, S.S.N.D.

 

On Tuesday April 13, 2021 in Baltimore, Maryland. Sister Elizabeth was the daughter of the late John W. Kelly and Elizabeth O’Toole Kelly. Sister Elizabeth is survived by her sister, Sister Kathleen Kelly, S.S.N.D. Sister Elizabeth was preceded in death by her above-named parents as well as her siblings, Regina Kelly, Father John W. Kelly, C.S.S.R., Martin Kelly, Gerard Kelly and Sr. Ursula E. Kelly, S.S.N.D. Sister Elizabeth received her education at Saint Philomena Grade School in Squirrel Hill, Holy Angels Academy in Fort Lee, NJ and Duquesne University.  Her ministry of elementary school teaching began in 1960 in Camden, NJ, continued in Annapolis, MD and in Pittsburgh at St. Aloysius and St. Philomena until 1981. It was in 1981 until 2008 that her ministry continued in Pastoral Care as a Hospital Chaplain throughout the Midwest. Upon Sister’s retirement in 2008 she devoted her time to the care of her family as she moved back to Pittsburgh and joined the Community of Villa Regina. Sister Elizabeth has lived at Villa Assumpta and Maria Health Care Center in Baltimore, MD since June of 2018. She was a faith-filled woman that tried to live her life based on her religious vows. Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 27-28, 2021 from 3-6pm. Funeral Thursday, April 29, 2021, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral 10:00AM. Remembrances may be made to the retirement fund of the School Sisters of Notre Dame, 6401 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21212.
