On Monday, December 18, 2023, Shadyside resident Stephen Reese Stamy, 69, died peacefully following an extended hospitalization. Beloved brother of Lloyd Franklin Stamy, Jr. (Mary Margaret) of Fox Chapel; Cynthia Scott Stamy of London, England; and Susan Blythe Stamy Peterson of Charleston, South Carolina, Steve is also survived by two cherished nieces and a nephew – Caroline MacLauchlin Stamy, Hayden Grace Stamy and Jonathan Patton Stamy, and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd Franklin Stamy and Barbara Lee Owens Stamy.
A 1972 graduate of Fox Chapel High School, Steve earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington & Jefferson College in 1976. A lifelong member of Shadyside Presbyterian Church and Wahnita Lodge Hunting & Fishing Camp, much of his professional career was devoted to commercial real estate brokerage.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held in the Chapel at Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15232, on Saturday, January 13 th , 2024, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the Church’s Atrium, where friends will be received.
