Timothy Patrick Brady

Timothy Patrick Brady, age 71, of Allison Park, devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend, died peacefully at home after a brief illness on Tuesday March 2, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Tim was the son of the late Dr. Fred. C. Brady and Adelaide Aschmann Brady of Pittsburgh. 

Tim was a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh.  In his youth he was a regular altar server at St. Paul Cathedral including acting as a Pontifical Server for Bishop John Wright.  Tim was a proud alumnus of Central Catholic High School.  It was there his love for football grew, and he was a standout for the Vikings.  Tim continued his studies at Villanova University, graduating in 1971.

Tim had an extensive career at Allegheny Steel Distributors, and he was a long-time member of the Pittsburgh Field Club.  Tim was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, especially in the Laurel Highlands.  His most fond memories took place at the cabin or at the beach where he happily controlled the music and manned the grill.      

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lynn Straub Brady; son Tim Brady Jr. and wife Rosemarie of Cary, N.C.; daughter Christine Brady Gumpert and husband John of West Chester, PA; and Patrick Brady and wife Stacey of Allison Park, PA.  He was the adored and teasing “Pap” to grandchildren Francesca and Marisa Brady, Cameron and Adelaide Gumpert, and Graham and Palmer Brady.  Tim was comforted in his final days by the presence of his beloved siblings Mary Lee Stallkamp, Fred C. Brady, Jr., Heidi Brady, and Kathleen Blaydes.  Friends will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc. (freyvogelfuneralhome.com) 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street on Friday 3-7p.m. adhering to all current CDC guidelines. Funeral Saturday, Mass of Christian Burial, St. Paul Cathedral 10a.m.
