Ursula "Jane" McCarthy Conner, age 83, of Point Breeze died Tuesday, June 6, 2023 with her
family by her side. Jane is survived by her husband, John "Jack" Conner; her children: Joanie
(Paul) McCoy, Jeffrey (Jeanne) and Jerry (Laura) Conner; her grandchildren: Brian (Maureen)
and Caitlyn Conner, Erin (CJ) Beatty, Courtney and Bennett McCoy, Griffin, Tilly and Quinn
Conner; and her great grandchildren: Sienna Conner and Teresa Beatty. Jane was a lifelong
Pittsburgher. She attended St. Bede grade school, followed by Sacred Heart High School, and
later graduated from Duquesne University Pharmacy School. Jane met Jack, the love of her life
and husband for the past 61 years, while working at her family’s pharmacy that was located
next door to the firehouse where he worked. Raised as a single child and marrying into Jack’s
family of ten, Jane fully embraced the joy of growing their own family and committed her life to being a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. True to her Pittsburgh
roots, Jane liked attending River City Brass Band concerts, watching the Pirates, and enjoying a
good meal at Eat n’ Park. Above all though, Jane was steadfast in her Catholic faith. Friends
will be received at John A. Freyvogel Sons, Inc., (www.freyvogelfuneralhome.com), 4900 Centre Avenue at Devonshire Street, on Monday from 3 pm to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bede Church (St. Mary Magdalene Parish) on Tuesday at 10 am. A graveside service will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Wednesday at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA (https://www.eawcp.org).
